So I have my grades back and I am happy with a few but I was a bit disappointed as I was hoping for a lot higher

English Literature - 6+
English Language - 6+
Maths - 4=
Physics - 5+
Chemistry = 6
Biology = 6
Spanish = 6+
History = 3+ (I got 28/52 and one teacher marked my whole years exam and he failed everyone literally loads of us got 1s and 2s so a 3 was a high sadly)

Remeber- mocks dont represent your final grade. None of my mock grades were the same as my final gcse grade. That said, it does give you ideas of what level you are working at and what to imrpove on. You passed everything apart from 1 which probably was due to a hard exam not your lack of knowledge. So well done firstly. Secondly, i suggest focusing on passing that History in the March mocks, along with trying to get that maths grade a little higher (maybe 5 if you do foundation). Also, aiming for maybe a 7 in English lamguage would be brilliant too seems to be one of your strong areas. Maths and English tend to be the importnt ones, not only because you have to pass them but also sometimrs sixth forms ask for them to be above a certain grade along with Degree Apprentiships or University in the future.
That said, dont place expectations on yourself. You said you did worse than expected- so from now on focus on improving those weaker subjects without placing expectations- just improvement. History is really tricky and remeber your teachers are there to help! You can slways ask them if thed be willing to sit down maybe after school or lunch with you and work along some exam questions.
Remember though- mock grades will not be the same and gcses dont matter too much.

Hey @lunawilliamsx,

Congratulations on your mock grades, especially in Media Studies, Spanish and English Literature/Language! 🙂

Your History teacher likely marked the year harsher than usual to try and encourage further revision. Look through each of your mock papers, read any feedback given and identify the topics/questions where you lost the most marks. Focus your revision on these topics first before solidifying your current knowledge through past paper questions.

Best of luck with your GCSEs and congratulations again!
Eve (Kingston Rep).
