A level predicted grades getting me down (rant)

Hi all. I kind of need to shout into the void about this as it's been getting to me lately. I am currently doing my A levels (English language, applied psychology, criminology). And I really do love the subjects I'm studying, and put it a lot of effort and time into making sure I understand everything/revise. However, we recently received our grade reports (unsure of the actual term), and my results were quite a blow. D, D, and a D... This majorly hurt my subject confidence, however many have told me that due to it being my first year in sixth form, this could change as I grow as a student. I have always sort of struggled with my view of my "intelligence", having ASD and coming from a school primarily for special education students, and now into a mainstream sixth form was already daunting enough. With this on top of it, it makes me rethink my decision to join sixth form. Although this sways, i still feel bad about my results and feel like I'm dumb or unable to surpass a specific grade threshold, especially with many teachers telling me that I am incredibly good at the subjects and that I really understand it. If this were the case, why are my grade results the bare minimum? After sixth form is over, I hoped to have potentially started UNI and continue my subjects further, but most UNI's in my area do not accept DDD grades as they are essentially the bare minimum just above an E or U/F... :frown:

Go and talk to your Head of Sixth or similar. Many people find the academic step-up from GCSE to A level difficult, and find the increased freedom of Sixth Form distracting. If you are motivated enough, and want to turn this around, its do-able, you still have lots of time. Go and have that conversation.
