A level combo HELP PLEASE

So I got a 4 (C) in math and a 6 in econ

Now my school offers business, accounting, and economics as a level
But they give me the option of studying math privately but giving the exams in school just no classes
I do cambridge btw

So i would really like to know (as a student in the UAE where math a level isn't a requirement for universities at all)
to go abroad to canada or the UK should i do:

1- math economics accounting
2- business economics accounting
3 - math business economics

Please help a girl out

also accounting is difficult but fine i just make a lot of silly mistakes and business is so boring
only economics is fun and I've only just started math classes so I might die

should I give business AS this may/june and then do AS math in oct/nov so i prepare over the summer and give the rest of the subjects year 13 obvi

What should I do

What degree are you aiming for?
In the uk maths is needed for a lot of econ degrees but to be honest a lot of uk unis will require a 5 or 6 in gcse maths. Also in the uk doing business, econ and accounting in combination could cause issues- they are seen as too similar and usually people are advised to only take one of these 3.
Realistically, maths a level with a 4 at gcse would need a miracle to go well.

Hello, since Math isn't required for your target universities and you find it hard, it's okay to only do it as AS if you want the extra support/time. I think reflecting on how your viewpoint is on each subject, if you enjoy it that most likely is better aligned.

No school in the uk would allow a student to study A level maths after only achieving a grade 4. Why are you doing A level subjects that don’t appear to hold much interest for you?

Hi, I'm aiming for an accounting and finance degree most likely but I'm still deciding so options are open
If I do well (i know) at AS math, would that cover the fact that I got a C at gcse?
I didn't study at all for gcse if that makes a difference but I think Math A level will be a boost for my application no matter what degree I apply for,,

I've finalized to do math, economics, accounting as eco and acc dont have a lot of overlap and math complements these both.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi, Thank you, and I had to ask if I did a subject privately - as in through the British council and self studied would that be accepted by UK unis?

Hi, I'll tell you my grades so you can gain context

Maths - 4
Physics - 4
Chemistry - 5
Economics - 6
ICT - 7
English - 9

and GP - A

My school only offers 2 A level pathways:

Economics, Accounting, Business
or
Physics, Chemistry, and a choice of Math/Biology

So as you can figure, the subject I was betting on (English) isnt provided and I'm not sure on the acceptance of private subjects if I were to just self study it.

My preferred combo would be Math, economics, english lit/lang or maybe even IT/computer science

If it makes a difference, I didn't study at all for GCSES and studied the night before (*studied not revised) for nearly all of them, As you've guessed, I suffer with procrastination.

Thankfully, My mindset has changed and so far I've been studying economics and accounting and a little bit of business (it doesn't hold my interest), and I'm good at eco (I got top grades for december mocks within my whole class), and my dad's an accountant so additional support - I just make silly mistakes that may/may not be resolved with additional practice (something I'm weak at).

If you know of any universities that accept private subjects in the UK or have cheaper fees in terms of international students - would love to hear it, and any other advice is appreciated in terms of studies.

You are best getting in touch with the individual uni‘s to clarify what they will accept, sometimes grades at A level negate strict GCSE requirements ( but seeing as GCSE performance can predict future outcomes ,different uni’s take different approaches to how they utilise GCSE grades when they make offers)…but again, seeing as you have written I just make silly mistakes that may/may not be resolved with additionalpractice (something I'm weak at).“ …you may need to consider whether Accountancy is the right career path for you! Carelessness and last minute tendencies are not generally great qualities for a prospective accountant. It’s a real shame your A level education options are so limited, especially when you appear very talented at English ,

Worth a shot! Maybe consider getting a tutor for maths cos it’s good for finance degrees
