English language and literature NEA (AQA A level)

As part of the AQA A level spec, I have to make connections between a fictional and non-fictional text. My fic text was going to be Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding--what non-fic texts would compare well to that? I was looking at the idea of creating/ forming 'identity', but any other ideas are welcomed as I am struggling to think of anything else!!

You could compare it to a memoir by someone who was working in fashion/magazine/tv at that time eg Tina Brown's Vanity Fair Diaries. Or lean into the diary format and opt for a contrasting time and experience eg Samuel Pepys - lots of differences but they both conjure a very specific time and place, share small details about lifetstyle, their days, etc.
