Additional funding?

Hi, I'm currently in the second year of a BA Counselling degree. I used 2 years funding previously on a CertHE I completed a few years ago and therefore I have only been entitled to the tuition fee loan for Years 2 and 3 of my current degree (self-funded first year).

I am considering moving to either BA Social Work or BSc Mental Health Nursing at the University of Hull (full-time) to start this September. As far as I can tell I would not be entitled to any maintenance loans, only the tuition fee loan for mental health nursing, however I would really appreciate clarification.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Mental Health Nursing courses are normally exceptions: this means you'll be entitled to the Tuition Fee and Maintenance Loans regardless of your previous study.

If you have a particular course and university in mind let us know and we'll make sure it's an exception.

Thanks, Graeme

It is the BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing and BA (Hons) Social Work at Hull University. Could you also confirm if I would receive Tuition and Maintenance loan funding for BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy at York St John University.
thank you

Hi there,

This course is also classed as an exception course and you can apply for the Tuition Fee Loan, Maintenance Loan and Supplementary Grants if applicable to you.

Thanks, Drew
