Rejected from Oxford Med

Hi

I'm just looking for advice from anyone who's been rejected from Oxford Med and moved on to other medical schools... does Oxford Med really matter for your future as a doctor? I feel like I'm not as upset as I thought I'd be upon rejection, just that my grades and hard work have gone to waste and I'm scared I won't be able to get a single offer for Med, if my interview was that bad at Oxford
You end up with the same qualification regardless of which med school you graduate from, and a lot of UK med roles recruit institution blind, so increasingly it will not make any difference whatsoever.

You are applying for one of the most competitive undergrad subjects. Do not let one rejection take the wind from your sails. You got an interview, that is 90% of the battle.

No, of course it doesn't. No-one curtseys to you in the hospital corridor because you went to Oxford - and when was the last time you asked anyone treating you where they trained.I

n a couple of months time when you have offers from other Med Schools, you will look back and wonder why you were ever bothered about this.

Sorry to hear about the rejection.

I got rejected from Oxford Medicine when I applied a few years ago. It was very upsetting at the time but I’ve been qualified as a doctor for a few years now and not getting into Oxford hasn’t really hindered me in any way.

Good luck with the rest of your applications.
