Maintenance loan entitlement

Hey I’m from the UK and plan on going back to uni after withdrawing last year. I did two years of pharmacy and then did biomedical science until I withdrew during term 2 of my final year. I already know I won’t be getting any tuition fee and will be self-funding however I wish to know if I will get any maintenance loan as I’m going back to start biomed from year 2 this year.

Hi Lisa,

Base on what you have advised you should get Maintenance Loan and Supplementary Grants if applicable, but nothing is definite till you apply and we can check this.

If you have Compelling Personal Reasons evidence (CPR)why you had to withdraw/repeat you can provide evidence of the CPR and it may be possible to get Tuition Fees for additional year. The evidence would be a letter on headed paper signed/stamped and dated from someone in profession i.e. Doctor/lecturer who knows the CPR. They must know how it affected your studies and the dates it affected you. Once received it will be up to the assessor if this will be accepted or not.

Thanks,
Claire
