Contextual info for my uni app

I am in yr12 and currently seeing lots of yr13s getting offers from my dream unis with better grades then me.
HOWEVER.
I have a GCSE average point of 7.3
Granted, is not the best.
I am aspiring to study economics or law at lse warwick imperial etc.
My schools attainment 8 score however was 35.6. The national average is 45.
English was also my second language.

Considering these, are my GCSE grades not good enough?

Please let me know as i am worried my dream career is unattainable now.

Have you used the contextual offer checker on the websites of any of those options?

As above - check each individual Uni's 'Contextual Offer criteria'. The criteria each uses will all be slightly different, and they may use different data-sets for eligible postcodes etc.

You also need to be very realistic about applying for the most 'competitive' Universities. For subjects like Law and Economics they will each get thousands - yes, thousands - of applications and they can therefore be very picky about who they accept. They will not need to be 'nice' to those with borderline grades to fill the course.

Unis won't necessarily give you a contextual based on your GCSE's. From what ive found from experience theres two reasons theyll give you a contextual offer:

1. Where you grew up- if you come from a less succseful area you are very likely to get one.

2. Your application - if your personal statement is incredible- shows alot of passion and that you've gone out of your way numerous times to explore and experience your subject than they can give you a contextual offer based on your character and being a perfect fit

Have you actually read the criteria used by Unis for lower grade Contextual offers?
It has nothing to do with 'if they like your character'.

The second of those isn’t a contextual offer, it’s just a reduced offer being used as a marketing tool. Contextual offers are based on socio-economic markers which are applied consistently across all candidates.
