Durham colleges help !! (i'm lost😅)

Hi!! earlier today I got an email saying I can now rank my colleges! I'd love any help and advice anyone can give me really

Info about my course/ preferences!! 😊
- I have been accepted for theology and religion
- Google tells me that the building for this is Abbey House, Durham, next to Durham Cathedral
- Even if my lectures aren't there, I'd like to be near the Cathedral (I think they're Bailey colleges?)
- I would prefer to be catered (I can't cook to save my life😭)
- I do like the old aesthetic and look of some of the colleges (yes, I know it doesn't really matter, it's just an ideal ahaa)

I do have a top few colleges in mind, but I also know not to get too attached to a particular college because the likelihood of me getting my first choice is slim.
Anyways I'd appreciate any advice anyone has (you don't need to be a current / former Durham student) and yeah !! thanks for reading this far lol😭

yes, you can rank college preference's and bailey colleges are very close to your desired area (castle college being very close and catered). however the college i am in (grey) is very close to the cathedral as well and is a hill college but there are plenty of theology students at my college so i wouldn't stress about proximity too much just rank based on catering and preference of aesthetics.

Hello!

Definitely would recommend Bailey colleges convenience wise and given your aesthetic and accommodation preferences! It might be worth having a little look at this college prospectus to get a better idea about what each college is like. If you're able to, it might be worth trying to come up to Durham to see what it is like before you choose a college on one of our open days but if not, there are also so many tours on YouTube especially our youtube channel!) that can give you a better idea of what's going on

Hope this helps!
