Applying for accommodation during gap year

I’m doing a gap year and have accepted my place for university starting in 2026 and now just booked accommodation in private halls so I thought I’d just ask to see if I get a response. Does anyone know if other students are on a similar timeline with booking accommodation as I chose a flat with only 1 spot left and now I’m wondering if it will be people in second year etc or other first years as it’s private accommodation. For context I couldn’t see if the people who has already booked for the flat was in first or second year etc or the age or gender of them. This might be an odd and specific question but if anyone out there has any answers this would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🙏🙏

Usually people get to private halls after 1st year, but of course it differs from case to case. You could ask the staff for details but i doubt they give you such information because it's being treated as 'classified'.
