Unis for Dentistry with BTEC Applied Science?

Hi! I’m doing a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science (targeting DDM/DDD) and want to study dentistry. Does anyone know which UK universities actually accept BTEC for dentistry (not just dental hygiene/therapy)? If so, what grades or units did you need? Would love advice from current or recent applicants! 😊

I know that an Access Course diploma is considered in some universities. But not too sure about Applied Science.

Perhaps you can read the thread below:

hi ! there arent many unis that take btec students as the courses are extremely competetive . even if you get DDD you wont be as "good" as an a level student who has AAB . Plymouth accepts btecs , bristol and i think adberdeen . You could also go to liverpool for hygiene then you can move onto dentistry if they think yur good enough to switch (please contact then to make sure lmao) i think uni of lancaster also does a gateway to dentistry . I personally want to be a dentist and ive got DDM in extended sciene diploma , all gsces above 6s and done extra things like NCS and duke of edinbure . I didnt have a single chnace with just that ! So i would recommend in your posistion to become a dental nurse you can do it in a year or less if you learn fast . This gives you a massive advantage at plymouth univeristy . You will have to also get over 2,000 on your UCAT and get a situational judgement of 4th quartile . I would recommend studying for the ucat asap as it will be the thing that sets you apart from an a level student . Also look into dentistry overseas as this might get you in a lot faster and easier . good luck xx
