1.
Read around your subject - focus on consistency over quantity, keeping up to date with themes and news within your degree subject that interests you will come across during your interview!
2.
Practise with other people or in front of a mirror - this is a great method of judging how you will come across to your interviewer, focusing on your presentation such as body language and eye contact.
3.
Research into key healthcare topics and ethical issues - including understanding of the NHS values, key healthcare laws and acts and common ethical dilemmas.
4.
Reflect on all of your experiences - volunteering, work experience, extra curricular activities, books you’ve read, part-time jobs… everything you have done to build your application can be reflected on and related to key skills needed to be successful for your degree of choice, such as good communication and collaboration skills; thinking about this beforehand will help you feel more prepared to answer questions during the interview.
5.
Prepare (but don’t rehearse!) for the 2 most important questions: Why would you like to study this degree? and Why have you chosen to apply to Sheffield? - consider specific aspects of the degree and city which are important to you to show you have researched well into your options, and how you will be a good fit for the course and city!
