1.
Overall reputation: Imperial just shades UCL, but it is very close, and you can't really differentiate the two on this alone. KCL, whilst not on par with them, is still a World class global university.
2.
Workload: Imperial is a bit more intense than at UCL and KCL. In some subjects the course material may even be harder at Imperial, especially in subjects like Maths and Physics.
3.
Social atmosphere: All three have a multicultural vibe, but Imperial tends to have more students that lack social skills. Students at UCL and KCL are more outgoing as a general rule, but this will vary from year to year, and between subjects, so it isn't a particularly reliable indicator based on subjective opinions and anecdotal experiences.
4.
Aesthetic look of campuses: This is where UCL and KCL beat Imperial quite clearly, although KCL lease some of those gorgeous buildings, whilst UCL fully own theirs.
5.
Location: All three are located in attractive parts of central London, although Imperial also has a campus in White City, and the new UCL East campus is based in Stratford.
6.
Which one would I choose: I personally think it is a straight choice between Imperial and UCL. Employers aren't going to distinguish between the two. In terms of overall reputation and brand recognition, they are the closest to Oxbridge in the UK and Ireland. Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, Imperial, UCL make up the top five UK universities for prestige and employer reputation.
