Dropping A level

I have just received an offer from oxford to read PPE, with grades AAA (no specific subjects). I take Maths, FM, Econ, and history. The trouble is I am suffering from extreme stress and History is an unconquerable territory... so I want to ask whether I can drop History just to relieve myself of the burden. Would there be any repercussions if I ask them to drop (e.g. wld they impose a con on my history....) and how feasible is it for me to drop it.

Thanks

It’s always best to confirm with the Oxford college that offered you the place. They’re usually happy to let you drop a subject but they could also increase the requirements for your others. I think the latter is less likely for Oxford but it’s still worth asking before making a final decision.

Last year my son dropped chem and just did Maths, FM and Physics. He checked with the college that had made him his offer and they were fine with it. No change to his offer.

But as has been said - you should be fine - but please do check!

Drop classes that are too hard. Take classes that are too easy. Inflate your grade average according to the grade bell curve.

Hi there, what were your GCSES and were they strong contextually compared to your school?
