Hi, I am a 2nd year Meng mechanical engineering student at the University of sussex currently looking for placements. I have been applying for placements since September last year and I just have been receiving a lot of rejection.
I did get to an interview stage but got rejected after because they wanted a person for 2025 and I was only available for 2026. I have a bit of expereiences such as formula student , IMechE UAS Challenge, engineering without borders challenge and some side projects as well.
After applying for sometime I have started to wonder why im getting rejected because I honestly dont understand anymore. I know rejection is part of the process but it starting to look like I wont be getting a internship this summer. This terrifies me because I know that if you dont get interships you will have a harder time applying for graduate schemes.
I just wanted to know if anyone has been feeling the same like this and if you have any suggestions feel free to comment.
