i'm a uk student and applied on 13 october before the oxbridge deadline. i've applied for english at cambridge, and english & history joint honours at durham, st andrews, warwick, and lancaster, with achieved grades of A*AA (english lit, history, law) + A* epq. so far i have offers from lancaster and warwick.

i guess i'm kinda wanting to know what people think of my chances for the other 3. i still haven't heard anything and it's stressing me out, especially as i have my grades achieved. i find out about cambridge on the 28th obviously but tbh i'm not holding out too much hope - not because my interview didn't go well, but just because i don't think it all went SO well to cancel out my grades. like they're obviously not bad but they're a bit low for cambridge maybe. in my defence i had quite severe depression at the time so i underachieved slightly, but there's nothing i can really do about it now lol

i'd just say that i have a pretty good sense that my personal statement is good, as after getting my lancaster offer i received an email from the english lit admissions tutor personally commending it which was nice. but at the same time it's january now and i've been waiting for like 3 months so i'm getting a bit nervous now lol

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK IM STRESSING OUT

Unis have until May to make decisions so there is no point stressing - you could be waiting quite a bit longer for Durham and St Andrews to reply.

your grades are fine, yes theyre on the lower side for cambridge english but people do get into english with AAA and having achieved grades is typically an advantage though im unsure if its the same with cambridge

durham and st andrews are both good, theyre some of the best english programmes in the UK as far as im aware

Congrats on the two offers! There is still a long time left for universities to make offers and some typically take a lot longer to respond, try not to worry!

I got a straight history Durham offer yesterday after applying in November so mine took a while as well! I have achieved grades of A*A*A and B in epq xx
