I feel disappointed to get B’s in my igcse exams. Should I be worried?

So I got 3 B’s and 1A..
I want to do a-levels but not sure if with my grades I will be able to join.. I wasn’t expecting more than a B but i am still dissatisfied. Is B really a bad grade?

I don't know what sort of school you went to (or what sort of pressure you're under from family etc.) but a B is a decent grade and good enough to do "A" levels in most colleges, 6th forms etc.. In fact, you can still do A levels with a "C" grade (although you may have to sit a separate AS level first.)

The only time it MIGHT not be good enough is if you wish to study an elitist subject such as Law or Medicine, where some institutions may only consider straight A's students.

Even so, if it's something you really want, there's the option to retake the exams (IMHO, it might be worth doing this for A levels, but I don't think it's worth the extra time and effort for GCSE's). I know I might be a bit out of touch, but I'd be very very VERY surprised if anyone refused you to do their A level course with B grades.

B's are good grades.
You have nothing to worry about.

Hi @new-coffle. I Definitely would not panic or stress about your grades. Your grades are much higher than average! Do not put yourself down. You are doing amazing and you should be proud of yourself and give yourself more credit. These grades will get you in to A-level I'm assuming as it is more than enough, but to be on the safe side I would ask your institution. I hope this helped! 😄

Absolutely nothing wrong with your grades. The only caveat being that a lot of sixth forms stipulate that you need to have passed at least 5 I/GCSEs to be able to start a course of A Levels with them. Have you only taken 4?
