I started my uni course 2025 and was wondering if I need to reapply for student finance for the next year and if so how to do it

Yes you do. You do the exact same thing as you did last year, apply via Student Finance and fill out the forms correctly (updating any details that might have changed e.g.: what year of uni will you be in). Applications for Student Finance will open in March (exact date is still unknown).

You should receive an email or text reminder from SFE when you need to do it. Make sure your details are up to date on your account.
