TSR Olympic Lucky Dip 2026

How it works:
If you are interested, post below with the words "I'm in" to be entered into a draw.
You will be given one country (or two, depending on numbers) competing in the Olympic Games.
Throughout the games, your country will accumulate TSR Lucky Dip points for a number of different achievements. At the end of the games, the points will be totalled up and the winner will receive a prize that is TBC!*
The Full Rules
- Be respectful to all users at all times
- You are welcome to post in the thread if you feel an event in the olympics is deserving of a Lucky Dip point - the more contributions the better
- This competition will require a lot of volunteer time to help run. Any feedback on the competition which is unnecessarily critical will result in disqualification of members from the competition.
- Volunteers are here to organise something fun, putting in their time to do that in the best way to see fit. Suggestions are welcome, arguing against decisions made is not welcome.
- Entries to the competition may open and close at different points depending on popularity. Waiting lists may operate if the competition is oversubscribed.
- These rules are subject to change and may be updated before or during the competition.
Scoring
- Countries will start with a handicap based on their medal table position in Beijing, ranked by order of Gold medals. First place in Beijing will have a handicap of 0, second place +1, ninth place +8 and so on. All countries in the Milan-Cortina games who did not medal at Beijing will receive +29.
Points will be awarded as follows:
- Bronze medal +1
- Silver medal +2
- Gold medal +3
- Olympic record +3
- World record +5
- Topping the medal table in a particular sport +15
- Demonstration of excellent sportsmanship (nominations welcome), +1,+2,+3
- Top quality outfits (nominations welcome), +1,+2,+3
- Unexpected medal winner (nominations welcome) +1
- Story of hardship in making it to the Olympic games (nominations welcome), +1,+2,+3
- Best ever performance, by golds, in a Winter Olympic medal table: final score x2
- First ever Winter Olympic medal for the nation: final score x10
- Any suitable reason determined by the organiser +1
