I declined Interview for Mock exam

I received an interview invitation which is clashed with my mock exam schedule, so I declined the interview and asked for reschedule it but when I started research on the priority between uni interview and mock exam, people mostly advice of not to take the mock over the interview. So I am pretty much worried when I received another interview from other uni also clashed with my mock.
I am so much worrying about my declined and reschedule decision, and should I ask for reschedule for my second interview invitation? (which is Face2Face). It is in Northern Ireland while I am an International student and I don’t have a UK standard visitor visa or rights to travel there, and it will be a bad effect if I got catch.

Was the interview for an undergraduate course?

Thank you, I've asked for your thread to be moved to a more relevant section

With regards to your interview, it doesn't really make much difference whether you accept the first invitation or a rescheduled date - unis are well aware that not everyone will be available on the first date, it does not prejudice their decision.

Likewise, nearly all unis off online interviews for international candidates now. Did the first date have any details about an online option?

Hi @Anessy

I'm sorry to hear this is worrying you!

I understand many people may have recommended the interview over the mock, however don't let this worry you. Declining the first date should not impact how they consider your application. Many people will have declined it if it does not align with their schedule. If you are really worried, contact the university directly and ask.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions 😊,

Hi,

You made a decision based on your schedule at the time, and universities understand that clashes can happen, especially with exams. Mock exams are still important, so it was reasonable to ask for a reschedule rather than miss them.

For the second interview, I’d recommend contacting the university as soon as possible and ask whether alternative dates or an online interview could be offered. Universities are usually understanding, when travel restrictions are involved, and it’s much better to be upfront about this.

Try not to worry too much, as asking to reschedule is very common and shouldn’t affect your application.

Hope this helps,

While there's no changing the situation now and if they are able to offer you another interview date then no harm no foul, but in case you have any future interview invites that clash - absolutely go to the interview. A mock exam is a purely internal and nonbinding test which your school can schedule at will. Prioritise your interviews - figuring out the mock exam schedules is your school's problem not yours!
