econ a level

hey! im in year 11 and am thinking of taking econ, fm, maths and cs.

I was just wondering if people find econ a level (ill be doing Edexcel btw) quite a time pressured subject and if so how bad is the time pressure? if possible what gcse subject would be similar in terms of time eg english lit is very time pressured in my opinion, is it similar?

Very little time pressure, if you're referring to in the exam hall. I finished my Economics papers with over 45 minutes to spare. Your mileage will vary based on your writing speed, but I assure you it is not as stressful as Eng Lit.

It depends.I do Aqa a level economics and I can tell you time pressure is a massive thing to worry about.Economcis content wise is easy if you revise early one.If you just follow the structure(from uplearn if you have it) you will at least get a minimum B or C.Time is the most limiting factor as to why people get bad grades but there will never be enough time to make sure you 100% did well on the exam.Personally I believe its way more time pressured than english lit GCSE.

Hey @XYZ_19_ZX,

I didn't find Economics A-Level to be too time-pressured; you usually have more than enough time to complete a strong response to each question as long as you're familiar with the content and know what you're writing. Admittedly, you still need to be careful with your timings - sometimes I had to move onto the next section of the paper before I ideally would have liked to - but I never found myself having to speed-write anything in the last minute or two.

Hope this helps and best of luck with Year 11!
Eve (Kingston Rep).
