Interruption to studies with potential to change Universities

I am in my first year of Uni at Exeter, and over Christmas and New Year's have unfortunately had health issues. I have applied for mitigation and deferral for my exam, but for the rest of the upcoming academic year, I have various exams that will be challenging for me to complete, and many aspects of the course I am taking are already quite stressful and pressured, largely not enjoying it.
I am considering dropping out now, but I am aware that the UCAS deadline for a September 2026 start has passed. Should I pause my studies and try to transfer to another university or restart at Exeter next year? Not finding Exeter University's mitigation process very easy either.
I'd probably suggest interrupting your studies and then take the time to think about your options. Remember you can still apply through clearing later in the year  So if you interrupt your studies you can buy yourself time to make a decision later!
