bio study help stats test

Hi, I find stats test bit confusing, here are the notes I made, could someone read through and tell me if its correct for AQA biology alevel please?
p value is smaller than or equal to 0.05 then reject the null hypothesis, result is statistically significant, less than 5% probability that the observed difference is due to chance alone, assuming the null hypothesis is true
p value is greater than 0.05 we fail to reject the null hypothesis result is not statistically significant, more than 5% probability the observed difference is due to chance, assuming the null hypothesis is true
then for chi squared when using these rules:
if x^2 = critical value then p= significance level
if x^2> critical value then p is smaller or equal to the significance level
if x^2 < critical value then p > significance level
Thank you!!
