Eastenders actor dies aged 92

He was really good in Eastenders.
I used to love the original slater family back when i used to watch it.
Its such a shame.

R.I.P Derek.
It's sad, although (IMHO) 92 is a good age to live to, especially as he was just a normal guy and not some obsessed health freak.
I remember he played some really tough scenes with his role as Charlie Slater; especially learning that his own brother r**ped his own daughter... although on a lighter note, I remember when Charlie, Jim Branning and Patrick Truman (The 3 Amigos, as I thought of them) made a real hash of their home brewing kit.
A little known fact about Derek is that he also had a small role in Only Fools and Horses... In the episode Fatal Extraction (the one where Del-boy has an affair with a dental receptionist), Del-boy comes home drunk, elated that Raquel will take him back, and is singing. Derek Martin was one of the resident yelling at him from his balcony to shut up... another guy gets involved, so they both go down to fight, and this leads to a full-scale riot on the estate. Del-boy awakes later... oblivious to the whole thing. Typical
