How does Go Abroad China’s housing work? Are the apartments shared, and are they located close to where you’ll be interning?

Housing is included and typically shared. My Beijing apartment through GAC was modern and close to a subway line, which was key. They try to place you relatively near your internship or in a well-connected area. Just know you won’t be living in luxury, but it’s comfortable and a great way to bond with other GAC participants.

Yes, it’s usually shared. My GAC apartment in Chengdu was fine and about a 25-minute bus ride to work. The location was more about access to the city center than to my specific office. If location is super important, ask your GAC coordinator for details before you confirm. They’re pretty transparent about what to expect.

GAC arranges the housing, usually a shared apartment with other interns. Mine was in Shanghai with two roommates, and it was clean and in a safe neighborhood. It wasn’t right next to my office, but it was a reasonable 30-minute metro ride. They show you the commute during orientation. You can sometimes pay extra for a private studio.
