Is it worth coming to a University of Reading offer holder day?

Hello!

Choosing a university is a major milestone, and it’s completely natural to feel overwhelmed while balancing exam revision with big life decisions. Offer Holder Days are designed to cut through that stress, offering a hands-on look at campus life that you just can't get from a prospectus.

Offer holder days (sometimes called Applicant Discovery Days) are exclusive events for students who have already received a conditional or unconditional offer from a university. This allows you to speak to staff and see how the university runs for a day.

By participating in interactive sessions and engaging directly with our faculty and student body, you’ll gain a genuine sense of our daily culture and community. To give you a clearer picture, some of our students are sharing their personal highlights from their visit days below.

More information can be found here: Undergraduate Offer Holder Days, and General Open Days and visiting.

If you have any questions, please let us know!

All the best,
Ella 😀

It’s an amazing opportunity where you get to make a real impact on your community and are given the tools to learn and act on vital environmental issues, it’s a great lesson for life and brilliant for environment activists - Reading Uni was named Sustainable Uni 2025 & we created the Red stripes.

Hi Sid,

I’m more just looking for real world experiences or thoughts as theres no feedback anywhere I can find! As i’ll be studying Speech and Language, not environmental anything, curious on what the crossover there looks like? I enjoy the environment (of course) and would love to learn more but cant say I’m the most knowledgeable at this point 😅

Hi yep some of my friends are on the scheme and it’s great! You don’t have to be studying environmental science at all, it’s just about your drive to make positive and impactful change, you could say a crossover could be that you will learn about we communicate environmental action to everyone and how we can build positive change with everyone included across languages

How to Book OH Days

Hi Everyone,

Ive been having a few questions within my role as student ambassador about how to book onto an offer holder day, you would have been sent an invite but you can also checkout the me@readingapplicant portal here, to sign in you will need your Reading ID - Your Reading ID is a unique 8-digit number which we assign to each applicant. You can find it at the bottom of all our email communications to you and your DOB (DD/MM/YYYY). Please try these steps first if you still need support you can reach out to [email protected], please be advised they are busy during this time of year so its best to try the portal first but they are there to help if you have any issues with this.

Receiving Application Outcomes
In regards to receiving offers, please don't worry if you haven't heard back from us yet, we have amazing teams working though all applications and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Our student ambassadors are unable to discuss case by case application outcomes.

Kind Regards,
Sid
