Which Literature uni course would you pick? 📚

I'm looking at English Literature degree options in the UK and have strong A-level grades. Which universities or joint courses would you recommend (and why)? If you studied Literature, what did you like/dislike? Thank you! 😊

The University Of Chester has a great English department. The undergraduate English degree consists of Literature, language and creative writing combined so there’s lots of variety. The tutors are brilliant and really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Outside of the academic department there’s so much support for students in order that you can reach your total potential. Also, Chester is a great city to live and study in!

Whilst I'm not at university yet, I love the look of the variety of modules offered by Strathclyde for English - and it is a great uni.

Hey!

You might be interested in some of the courses at UEA! We have a well-known literature and creative writing department, and Norwich is known as the ‘city of stories’ with a book festival each year!

UEA offers BA English Literature (https://www.uea.ac.uk/course/undergraduate/ba-english-literature) and variations including with creative writing and history, if those interest you! There are a wide variety of module options and the opportunity to study abroad (something I would really recommend!).

I don’t study this myself, but I have friends who do and really enjoy it! Please let me know if you have any questions about the uni or the city, I’d be happy to answer them!

Good luck!
