Advice re status
I did my GCSES outside of the UK. I came back with my parents in June 2024, I will be starting uni this year so not quite 3 years residency since returning.
I have offers as a home student. Only 1 of those offers asked me to send all the evidence required to prove ordinary residence, which I did and they quickly assessed and said home fees
I know student finance operate independently and dont go by what the uni said, so if they dont give me the finance on the same basis is that the case for the full degree? Or can I try to self fund for year 1 and then have it reassessed for year 2 as I will have then been a resident again for over the 3 years. I asked at a uni open day stand and was told yes but then I have been reading online and I am really worried its at the beginning of the course and thats it. Given its a 5 year course I am extremely anxious.
And if they initially say no to home fees and I can provide ordinary residence information (kept house, paid council tax, bills, came home twice a year etc) will they reconsider?
