Full funding for a second degree due to personal extenuating circumstances

Hi. I studied full-time BSc Psychology degree between 2011 and 2017. I really struggled due to mental health and had to repeat years. When it came to repeating final year of degree my mum got breast cancer and my mental health deteriorated further. I left with a Diploma of Higher Education. I used student finance and had support for repeated years of the degree. I wanted to know if I provided evidence from GP about my struggles if SFE England would fully fund all 3 years and give 3 years of maintenance loans to do a new full tim degree in BSc Applied Sociology and Criminology. I'm asking specifically if I would get the full SFE package of tuition fees paid for all 3 years and 3 years of maintenance loans due to the extenuating circumstances I had. Thanks.

Hi there, students are unable to receive support for a new course of an Equivalent or Lower Qualification, as they would be deemed as studying an equivalent or lower level qualification. As you have already received a qualification of the Diploma of Higher Education then you would not be eligible for support even with Compelling Personal Reasons evidence (if accepted) as you have to advance beyond the qualification you currently hold for the CPR to be applicable for review.
