Substituting choices after deadline

I would like to know if I have applied before the deadline but want to substitute one of my choices now would it still be considered late application?

Hi there,
It should not count as a late submission but please note that equal consideration may not be guaranteed for substituted entries, though Universities may give offers regardless depending on their capacity and discretion. From my knowledge, substitutions are only possible after you’ve received decisions from all your choices or withdrawn from any outstanding ones and you can only substitute one at a time. I would recommend getting in contact with UCAS to learn more about this process and how to successfully go through with it.

Hope that helps,

You can only 'substitute' a different course at the same Uni and only if that Uni agrees - email that Uni. And you can ask about this at any stage, and not only 'when you have received all decisions'. If you withdraw from a choice after the 14 day cooling off period, that's it, you cannot 'substitute' anything for that choice.

If you mean that you want to select a course at a different Uni, check with UCAS - 0371 468 0 468 - and if they tell you that the 14 day cooling off period overrides the UCAS deadline then you should still be able to change the choice on UCAS Hub. If you want to switch to a different course at the same Uni, contact that Uni - this has nothing to do with UCAS and is entirely up to that Uni. You can ask for this sort of switch at any time, even after you have an offer.
