yes, a lot of what they taught at GCSE are like straight up lies and it is hard. like end of Year 12 I got like a D but now I’m on an A, so trust me I know what I’m talking about, but this might just apply to me, like it might not work for you, but I hope it works for you. I would say that although the content gets easier the more you learn, the more things link very nicely. you might not remember but imagine how confused you probably were at GCSE learning about atoms and ions and electrolysis and all that stuff, but now it’s a piece of cake. it’s similar to A level chemistry, it’s terrifying. like I can imagine you’ve done like s orbitals, p orbitals, topic 4 (I also do Edexcel), topic 2 and maybe even moved onto organic. but all those topics look difficult cuz you’re comparing it to GCSE content so it’s more difficult. but trust me, like once you do organic chemistry 2 in Year 13, organic chemistry 1 is gonna look like light work, trust. and I know that sounds scary but it’s almost like a puzzle piece in a way, like the first two pieces (in this case the topics) are really difficult to put together correctly, but once you have nearly finished it (like the course) all the pieces fit together and you see a bigger picture. it is the same for chemistry, I promise. I barely revised, I simply just tried to piece things together. I went from a D to an A. and I promise you, you will love it again, it’s like one of my fav subjects.
