Nottingham vet med April cohort

Hi all, I’ve got an offer for Nottingham Vet School April intake and I’m really excited. I wanted to ask any current April students:

What’s life like socially and in terms of holidays compared with the September cohort? How big are societies/events and what kinds of things do people do in the quieter months?

I’ve heard that placements (EMS) might be easier to get as an April student because fewer people are applying at the same time is that your experience too?

Also another question, how does student finace work for April intake does anyone have any idea?? Do i apply now as my other start dates are in September and then cancel and reapply again for April if I get the grades for Nottingham??

I’ve just got my offer for April it was my first choice. I have been working in a vet practise for 18 months and the vet I was shadowing said when I told her about applying for Notts and the April intake as my first choice that April is going to be so much easier for EMS I am hopefully doing mine there as I will continue working there when I can while studying. (I’m local to Notts uni)
