Do I qualify for a loan?

I have 2 undergraduate loans (Psychology and Teacher training) and would like to do a MSc Counselling course. It is part time over 3 years and leads to qualified counselling status.
I am a UK resident under 60. Would I qualify for a loan?

Hi Annie,

When are you hoping to start this course? What university are you wish to study with? Was your previous study full time or part time?

Thanks,
Claire

Hello,

This course is at Lincoln University, to start September 2026. Psychology was full time and I’m not sure what the teaching was classed as (one day a week in uni and the rest on placement).

Hi Annie,

Is it part time and do you have the course code or full name of the course and we can check your eligibility? Thanks, Jason

Hello,

The course is part time over 3 years. It is MSc Counselling at Lincoln University. There isn’t a code on the course page, just says N/A

Thanks, yes - this course is showing on our database.

Since you don't already have a Masters-level qualification you'll be eligible for funding from us.

The 2026/27 applications will open this Summer, and you'll be able to apply online then.

Thanks, Graeme
