Government Statistical Service (GSS) Summer Placement 2026

Hi I also got a similar email and I recently sent them a email asking what my merit position was, maybe you could try asking them too? They told me I had been allocated to a department but needed evidence that "this placement would be an integral part of your Degree", which is confusing because I don't remember that being a requirement on the job description?

Coincidentally I also scored the same as you did, I also got sent a provisional job offer just now for the department of work and pensions this morning, the recruitment team was very helpful with the emails, good luck with your offer letters!

Hi I have! I have received some emails from a team in Defra to organise a summer placement. It seems like the placements are very department dependent in terms of when you are contacted once you have been assigned to somewhere, so maybe some are just taking more time than others. Hope that's helpful.

Yes sure, I got 6 in working together, 7 in communicating and influencing, 6 in presenting and disseminating data and 5 in data analysis
