Part time jobs for 16 year olds

I am in year 11 and hopes to have a part time jobs in July and august when my GCSEs finish. I’m struggling on finding part time jobs though for 16 year old. I am not interested in hospitality.

Hi @Tanya07

I have a couple posts here that you may find useful and give you ideas on potential places to apply
Where to apply for a summer job
Where to apply for Christmas temp jobs

Although the posts were made for seasonal roles most of the places are often looking for staff all year round.

I hope this helps and good luck

As well as being 16, some places also require you to have finished school (i.e. the end of june in year 11).
How come you dont want to work in hospitality? There are usually a lot of options in hospitality for 16-18 year olds.

My son has been there about 2 and a quarter years so far.

Well he has no desire to leave. He's hoping to train up to crew trainer next, and then work his way up.

I trained up to be crew trainer.
I was going to go through management training (according to the store manager I was the next one to go through it). But I ended up finding my current job.

Hi,

I’d recommend applying to retail places like M&S, Superdrug, JD, Primark, Bodycare as well as local cafes, pharmacies (e.g., dispenser roles), and food places like McDonald’s or Nando’s. You can apply online or hand your CV in person at local businesses.

Hospitality or event staff roles can also be a good option, as they’re often zero-hours and flexible.

You could also consider babysitting, dog walking, tutoring younger students, or volunteering to gain experience.

Hope this helps,

I just feel like hospitality is not for me as I’m not really interested in it but thanks
