A levels

Best a levels to keep finance dentistry and law open?

A diverse three to cater to. I'll add that you will want to stick with one when you get to Year 12, since you will have to cater your supercurriculars towards it and any excess time spent doing something else will be wasted. With that said, you will probably want Maths (for Finance), an essay subject (History/English) for Law, and Chemistry+Biology for Dentistry.

Hi @ayaan67 ,

Dentistry is perhaps the biggest restriction on your choices here. Most courses require two science A-levels or biology/chemistry with maths - this second option may be better if you're also looking at finance (although not all finance-related degrees require a maths A-level).

The options when pursuing a law degree are generally more flexible, though I would agree with the below suggestions of choosing an essay-based subject for your final A-level (this could simply be law, but history or English literature are also fine!). Combined with your science subjects, this would actually set you up as a really strong candidate for a legal career - it will show you can create clear, persuasive arguments while also being capable of complex problem-solving.

Even if you choose to go down the dentistry or finance path for your undergraduate degree, the door to law will still be open - you can always take a postgraduate conversion course (like me!) afterwards. Unless the academic/theoretical side of law really appeals to you (in which case I'd recommend the LLB), a law conversion may be the better option for you here. This way, you don't need to make a decision on whether you pursue law for a few more years, and you may find the transferable skills you gain from non-law degree actually set you apart in future legal applications!

Best of luck with whichever A-levels you take and let me know if you have any questions 😊
