Neither, I was trying to figure it out, it’s quite expensive ig it make sense to flat share or use student accommodation.

Yeah - hopefully they organise some offer holder meetups so we can get to know each other, or provide some other way of accommodation. I’m tryna talk to some current apprentices so I’ll post here if I know smt further

I’ve heard stuff about private student accom too which could be a shout because it might be cheaper than normal accom + they run social events too so you can have some of the uni experience as well

Yh I did check, but if u flat share its acc cheaper than student accommodation. Like the cheapest student accom I found was 750/800 a month for a ensuite room with a shared kitchen.Whereas if u flat share it’ll be 500-600. But obviously it’s personal preference, I am homing they do some kind of social event

Yeah I'm planning on relocating to Bournemouth, I think they will have a Offer holder day sometime in May I believe. Also has anyone got an email for their formal acceptance yet because I haven't.

I still haven’t got anything….. maybe they’re sending them in a specific order. I just received an email to fill out a couple of questions, that’s it.

From previous years they do another meet & great session with the managers but that is more around the work. For accomodation doing student shares are good, but they are workign different hours and can be quite disruptive. The best thing is to arrange your own house shares which have gone well before. The location of a houseshare is important, if you go for town centre then there are more modern flats which are a bit more expensive and you will use the company buses to get in & out. Or there is closer to the university halls and shared houses in Charminster, but the landlords tend to charge more for those for worse accomodation becasue they can and then you also have to use buses to and from the campus but a less frequent one. Or what does seem to be popular is houses between Boscombe and Holdenhurst road which you can get more for your money but you can walk to the office in around 20 minutes and often come with off street parking etc. If you want quieter and more professional, then ther are also rentals around on Littledown estate itself. The key is you find an area and housemates that match your interests.

It's not all about work, but it is important you have somewhere good to study on top, and getting rest is also key but have a good time. It's why house shares with fellow apprentices work out best but havign others aroudn you in the same boat is a real helper for general wellbeing.

However, it is wise to set up a what's app group or similar to see who is really looking as getting it sorted quickly is a big weight of your mind.

And finally, don't think about driving to the office or even parkign close by, there are so many parking restrictions and space on campus is restricted. I know people paying over £50 a week just to park on a drive close to the offices.

One more thing from experience, especially if you are in tech. No one wears suits! Smart jeans and chinos are the office attire with collered shirts or even hoodies. They don't like big logos or sports gear but I remember my manager when I turned up telling me to dress down and I had just spent lots on getting suits, shirts especially. As I walk to and from the office, I wish I had spent that money on a really good long waterproof coat instead.

Ahh, thanks for your insight! What are your thoughts on private student accom? Rn I'm looking at stuff like CRM students (St Peters' Hall) or other providers like Kaplan's living, and then doing flat sharing after year 1
