Hi there,

Congratulations on accepting your offer! 🥳

Every student’s university experience is going to be different, but we understand after seeing mixed opinions it may make you feel uneasy. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to email our support team: 📧[email protected]. We'd also recommend attending an Applicant Day to get more of a taster for your course and a chance to speak to academics and students. They're coming up soon!

I’ll tag our @ARUStudents account, and the @ARUGraduate account, so our students can share their opinions too 😊

Many thanks,
Jemma

hey i’m gonna be very honest with u as a first year who just dropped out of ARU, im starting a new uni in September.

i did the film and tv production course so i don’t know too much about zoology, but i can tell you about the uni in general.

if im honest it’s not the greatest university, the place sort of feels like a mess and it feels more like a college than a uni. they’re not particularly specialised in anything, and everything just feels like it’s half arsed.

for my course specifically, it was like instead of making films we were just making low quality youtube videos it was a big fat no, but that’s not to say you won’t enjoy your course as i don’t know. i did work in a pub in cambridge while at ARU and one of my co workers did zoology at ARU and never expressed an issue with it, but everyone has their own tastes.

but what i will say is that almost everyone i met at this uni had received an unconditional offer which is honestly a bad sign - a uni handing out free offers to anyone and everyone suggests it isn’t great, which in my opinion felt true.

another thing about Cambridge is it’s really expensive, you may as well live in london for that price where you’d have greater opportunities and experiences.

wish u the best!! if u have any questions ill try and reply in more detail
