Predicted grades
What do I do when I’m applying to summer schools and schemes where they ask for predicted grades when I don’t have any. I’m getting mine as soon as I start year 13. I also haven’t done many tests so I don’t think my teachers can guess based off that. I don’t want to ask and look dumb

I would maybe email someone from the summer school and explain your situation. Say that your school does not give out predicted grades in Y12 and ask if this is okay. You should be able to find an email address that you can contact on their website.

I already emailed some schools and they’ve said I should try and ask my teachers to see if they have an idea of an informal predicted grade but I’ll email again saying I won’t get my predicted grades until year 13. It’s just that some programs require me to put a grade and I don’t know what to put.

Hey @Toomanyenny,
It may be worthwile reaching out to your Head of Year/Head of Sixth Form to explain the situation as well. Your school may be able to provide a provisional predicted grade before Year 13 if necessary; I know you said that you don't receive your predicted grades until Year 13, but it should be theoretically possible for them to provide an informal prediction if it's solely to be used for summer school applications.
