Bath vs Birmingham chem eng

I'm not sure whether to firm Bath or Birmingham. I've been to both cities and open days, and I like both in their own ways. I have heard that Bath is quite expensive though. However, Bath's bursary scheme offers more for first-years, compared to Birmingham.
Bath has always been my top choice uni. but the only 2 things holding me back is what I've stated above, and also how the course I've chosen for Birmingham includes a year abroad, alongside the placement year, which Bath also has.

Also, I've received a contextual offer from Bath of AAB, and for Birmingham, if I firm, then it's AAA.

Hi there 😊

I'm a current student at Bath and it's great to see you like both of the courses at Bath and Birmingham as they are both great unis.

Bath is a fantastic place to study and the cost of living can be higher compared to other parts of the UK. However many student like myself manage this through budgeting, find part time jobs and making use of bursaries available. There are many student jobs with the university like being an ambassador, working at our eateries which is great if you're living on campus first year and there won't be a commute to uni. I would say finances is an important factor to consider but don't let that be the sole reason why you rule out a university. The university offers a lot in terms of managing finances, budgeting tip and short-term loans if necessary.

I'm not too familiar with Birmingham but Bath has a great placement system hence why many student chose to do a placement year as they are able to gain insightful knowledge and graduate job opportunities. Be sure to look at the modules you will study at both universities and look at which ones you prefer more. Also look at the teaching styles as not all universities will do the same learning style.

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
