Radiography at Cumbria or Hull?

Hello, I hope whoever's reading this is well! I've been made an offer for Diagnostic Radiography by both these universities but I'm not sure which one to choose as they're both amazing universities. Cumbria is close to home so I could commute and the hospitals I could be placed at for placement are where I may want to work in the future- which can give me a better chance of getting a job, however Hull is 2 year course so I could start working earlier but would it be harder for me to get a job back here at home then when I'd come back since I'd live in accom? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations on your offers.

It is possible that having placements in the area that you would ultimately like to live and work might give you an advantage when applying for jobs as you will already be known to staff, but there are no guarantees. A couple of other things to consider:

- the two-year course will be much more intense than the three-year course; are you prepared for having fewer holidays and probably having to work through those holidays on assignments?
- do you want a full uni experience? If so, commuting to Cumbria might not give you this.

I would recommend that you attend offer-holder days for both options so that you can have another look at the department and staff in detail. In the end, there isn't a wrong option as upon graduation you will have been trained to become a band 5 DR.
