is it possible for me to get into pharmacy?

Hi, I know im asking a pretty impossible question but recently ive been interested in pharmacy at strathclyde but I dont have the grades for second year entry as I dont have advanced highers. I have higher maths and French A and human biology and rmps B and chemistry and English B but ive resat those two. ive been searching if its possible to do advanced higher chemistry privately but I cant find any places. Another big issue is that im in my first year of university of a non science related degree (due to pressure to go university). I have an extra space in my ucas application and I was going to apply to first year entry but the uni said I wouldn't be eligible. should I do a degree like biomed and then transfer second year? or is there a place to do adv higher chemistry in Glasgow? Also, I am not allowed to leave the city for uni. am I cooked?

It looks like you meet the entry requirements for the MSci Pharmacology 1st year at Strathclyde - maybe you could do 1st year of that then transfer? Glasgow Caledonian University also do Pharmacology.

Hiya! It sounds like you've already been in touch with the department but I'd get in touch again to ask if they'd consider you transferring from the Pharmacology route. We're really popular for Pharmacy and the Pharmacology programme is a different stream of students so they're not always interchangable and possible to transfer between. The email address for the department if you don't have it already is [email protected] 🙂

Pharmacy at Strathclyde is really competitive and transfers from Pharmacology aren’t always possible, so email the department and get a clear answer on transfer routes before you change course. If they say NO you may need to focus on the qualification route while staying in Glasgow.
