Notts vs Liverpool vet school

I have received offers from Liverpool and Nottingham vet schools and don’t know how to pick, I can’t go to the offer holders days and don’t know how to pick! Anyone got anything that may help? I know Notts have more animal handling first years but not sure about sb and I loved Liverpool when I was there for open day- please help

Take a look at QS rankings if that's helpful or important to you. Liverpool is very highly ranked versus Nottingham. Liverpool has an impressive equine hospital if you're interest in large animal. Also, cost of living might be a consideration to factor in, proximity to family, etc. Congratulations!

Well done-Nottingham you study on one campus for 5 years whereas Liverpool is split between 3years one campus in the city 2 years on the campus in the countryside… have a look on the websites for each university as well to see which teaching style might suit you better.

QS rankings mean very little for vet med itll make no difference for career progress.
Liverpool is a more traditional school. You will have more clinical skills and practical skills at nottingham and on average Notts grads feel more prepared for clinical practice.
Liverpool has on site teaching hospitals you will have more exposure to referal practice there.
if you have any specific questions lmk.

There are regular shuttle buses between SB and Nottingham campus which I believe are free of charge for vet students?

For some, particularly NA applicants, rankings can make a difference with residency offers and, correspondingly, job offers.

Hello student4567890,

Congratulations on your offer to study here with us at the University of Nottingham.

I just wanted to hop on the thread and confirm that we do have a hopper bus which runs between the campuses and they are free of charge for all current students. You can find the time table on our website (see here for the details).

In terms of having a look at our Sutton Bonington Campus, if you can't make the offer holder days then we do have virtual open days which may help give you an idea of what it looks like. You can can book a set date / time for a virtual open day or have a view online at a time which suits you. All the information on this can be found towards the bottom of this page here.

We know that choosing a University can be a tricky decision so if you have any questions relating to the course or the campus then please do get in contact with us.

Good luck with everything.

All the best ^-^
