Sheffield uni chem eng

Hi I got an offer from Sheffield uni for chem eng but I had a few questions from anyone Thast done the course.

I’m trying to book my accommodation but I don’t know how many weeks the course is for first years. Is it 51 or 31?

I was wondering if it’s also a course filled with different people because I’m stupidly scared to be the only girl with no other female friedns lol

It’s also my first time moving out so I was wondering is there any halal food places or things to do etc

Congratulations on your offer for Chemical Engineering- that's so exciting!

In regards to accommodation and course dates, you can find the future term dates here. 🙂

I have a couple of friends that studied engineering (graduated last year), and they had multiple female friends on the same course, so try not to worry! You can chat to a current Chem Eng student about their experience here via online chat if you'd find this useful for some additional reassurance!🙂

Sheffield is a great place for food, with so many different restaurants and cafes to explore- many of which do halal food🙂 Meat smokehouse has recently opened in Sheffield and has amazing food (and are halal!). The University has lots more info regarding halal food places in Sheffield here which you may find a useful guide!
