Warwick offers

Anyone know when Warwick usually issue their offers? Appreciate it can be anytime until about Easter, but just wondered if there was a rough window… it’s for EPP

Not sure about EPP but I received my offer for PPE in early May last year, about a week before the deadline

Hi!

As a student ambassador I can't say much around admissions, but I'm currently in my final year studying EPP so happy to answer any questions you may have about the course, modules, student life etc!

Best wishes,
Jasmine (Student Ambassador)

Hi Jasmine, can I ask if you did a work placement, if so where & what you got out of it?

And when I say “what did you get out of it” I don’t mean a job offer per se, although that would be nice of course, but also how that’s expanded your thinking and how it has affected your degree overall

I’m not sure For EPP but I applied for history 22nd of November and received an offer on the 12th of December. However last year I applied for law on the 1st of October and got an offer on the 6th of May so it could really be any time

Hi, sure!

I did a summer internship in the banking field, and although the work itself wasn’t directly related to the content of my degree, I found the experience incredibly valuable. It gave me a proper insight into the corporate world and helped me get a better sense of what day-to-day work might actually look like outside of an academic setting.

One of the main things I took away was a clearer idea of what kind of career I might want to pursue. Going in, I wasn’t entirely sure what kind of roles I’d be interested in post-uni, but spending time in a professional environment helped me figure out what kinds of things I enjoyed (and what I didn’t). It also helped me realise how important things like company culture and team dynamics are, which isn’t something you can really learn from just reading about companies online. It was also a great opportunity to network and speak to people at different stages of their careers. I met lots of new people and asked a lot of questions about how they got to where they are and general career advice; those conversations really helped me think more broadly about what’s possible after graduation.

Even though the work didn’t overlap much with my actual degree content, I still found the experience worthwhile because of all the transferable skills like time management, communication, and adapting to new challenges. These kinds of experiences also look great on a CV and give you examples to talk about in future interviews.

I’d definitely recommend applying for internships/work experience when the time comes, even if you’re not 100% sure what you want to do - it’s such a great way to explore your options and get ahead in your career journey.

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!
Best wishes,

For Warwick, especially for EPP, offers usually come out quite late. A lot of people hear back between February and March, and some even into April.

So if you haven’t heard yet, it’s completely normal. No news doesn’t mean bad news at all, Warwick is just slow with PPE/EPP decisions.

Basically, you’re still well within the normal window, so I wouldn’t stress yet.

Thanks for this - I even had a dream about it last night, lol

Thanks Jasmine, that’s really helpful. Banking per se isn’t a direct interest (well, not currently!) but behavioural economics is, so it’ll be interesting to see where things go. Just need the offer!

Yeah behavioural econ is definitely interesting! One thing I’d say though is that it can be a bit more limited in terms of structured or formal internships compared to fields like banking or consulting, mainly just because it’s a more niche area and there are fewer firms specifically advertising roles under that label.

I was actually quite interested in going into behavioural econ in my first year as well, and I got a few interviews through cold emailing smaller consultancies and research-focused companies. So there definitely are opportunities, they’re just sometimes a bit less obvious and require a bit more proactive searching. Also worth keeping in mind that your interests can change quite a lot during uni once you’re exposed to different fields, so it’s totally fine to keep things open for now. Good luck with the offer, hope it comes through!

Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Best wishes,
