Super realistic reality check

Hello!

I was wondering if I have a chance for Cambridge medicine or if I even meet the minimum requirements?:

6A* and 1A* in short course GCSE (total 7A*) and 4 As . No Bs no Cs or fails. A levels predicted 3 A*s in all three sciences + A* in EPQ. Assuming UCAT is excellent .
Just based on grades alone ( no personal statement , assume that is great too) do I have a realistic chance? Should I instead apply elsewhere and not waste an application.
Has anyone gotten in to Cambridge medicine with a similar set of stats?

Thanks!

If you meet the entry requirements, you have a shot, and if you don't meet them then no. Judging by this you do meet the entry requirements, but you should check for yourself.

I don't see anything which would suggest you wouldn't be a competitive applicant. The main thing which limits people applying to Cambridge medicine is their higher standard offer of A*A*A, and the fact statistically to achieve competitive scores in interview, applicants need to take 3 STEM subjects.

Given you are predicted above the standard offer and are taking 3 STEM subjects, you tick off those boxes. Given medicine at Cambridge is actually only "averagely" competitive due to the self-selection out of applying by those who are predicted e.g. only A*AA or who are only taking 2 STEM subjects, I'd suggest it's actually a good choice since a lot of the competition is already "weeded out" before you even get to interview as a result

Obviously whether or not the Cambridge course is appealing to you is another matter though!
