too much happening here icl, Dont do the epq if u already have a lot on your plate. However unis like QMUL, KCL, LSE do love a lil epq on the side. I think Russel group unis dont really look at the point system.. mostly ur a levels/ qualifications.

Overall. I wouldn't suggest the EPQ for you.

An EPQ is not essential or preferred by any Uni or course, and if doing one just adds to your stress it really is not worth it. Three good A level grades will always look better than three lower ones and an EPQ - and that could cost you a Uni place. Competitive Unis asking for A grades etc do not 'do' UCAS point offers, and the sort of Unis who do make offers in UCAS points will not care that you have done an EPQ.

My advice would be not to bother with the EPQ and focus instead on getting Politics up to speed. If you are struggling with essays, go and talk to the relevant teacher and ask for their help, and also ask other students for their help - often even just reading their essays after everything has been marked is useful for seeing how someone else structured that essay etc.

TMUA testing is only required by some competitive Unis and only for some subjects - typically Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science. The specific course page on each Uni website will tell you if it is required or not, and if they do not require it, there is no point in taking it. See TMUA UAT UK

You can do an artefact for your EPQ which reduces the word count for your essay, something to look into and ask your advisor about maybe 🙂
