Help for A level maths

I study A level maths and I find that I drop many marks due to many mistakes not technique or method just mistakes like not remembering a square or copying something down wrong. Does anyone have any tips laying out large A level equations in a way to minimise errors or any techniques you think would be helpful.

Sometimes if you mouth the words/numbers as you're reading/writing them you make fewer mistakes as you're working slower. And obviously scanning your working once you're done can help catch errors
