Btec Applied Science Unit 5 Questions 2026

I was asked to make a summary of what was on the papers and i'll do my best to do so. For biology it was on the lungs, vital capacity, interpreting a graph, how blood pressure is decreased, asking about the heart, aortic artery (what happens if there is a hole in the heart, i think it was near the SAN or ventricles), the six marker was on interpreting a graph of the vital capacity between an athlete and a normal person. For chemistry, it was on catalysts, carbocations, identifying/naming alkenes, explaining the strength of bonds in alkene/alkanes, the six marker was on the second part of extracting aluminium (electrolysis of alumina). For physics it was on adiabatic compression, viscosity, calculations (forgot what it was on), elasticity and drawing a graph, a scenario question of someone on a stage and having a elevating tile to push them up (in concerts) and you had to explain how you would calculate the work done (I forgot what I wrote but if you look at the mechanics of the stage on google you will understand). The six marker was comparing an air heat pump (to heat house) and a ground heat pump and the paper provided you stats of the costs, energy input, energy lost and so on. This is what I remember, sorry if this not enough. Hopefully other students who see this post can add on to this.
