Well you can study psychology for undergraduate pick all the neuroscience based modules or study psychology with neuroscience or straight neuroscience the only problem with that is it may not be accredited by the bps and that is needed if you want to stay within psychology. For example I’m interested in the bio side of psychology I’m doing my undergrad in psychology then I’ll specialise after in neuropsychology. In terms of career prospects neuropsychology earns slightly more on average.

Hello @Nessa.M,

That’s great to hear you are interested in psychology! If you’re not sure which one to pick, you could always go for psychology and choose the neuroscience related modules. At the University of Southampton, we get one optional module choice per semester in year 1 and 2 (apart from the first semester of first year). Then in the third year, you get to choose all of your modules (apart from the empirical project). We are also able to choose modules from courses outside of psychology, as long as you meet the prerequisites for them.

There are modules such as behavioural, cognitive and social affective neuroscience. You can have a look at all of the modules available on the module finder. Depending on what career you are aiming for, this may be fine. Or, you may need to take the neuroscience course instead, so it’s worth looking into.

Hope this helped and let me know if you have any more questions!
